Benefits of PROM:

• PROM is also known as green phosphatic fertilizer and considered as the most efficient way of adding phosphorous to soil than applying chemical fertilizers which makes the Phosphorous slow release and also reduces its losses from leaching.
• PROM provides 10.4% organic origin phosphorous, 0.4% Nitrogen and also adds 7.9% organic carbon.
• PROM increases the Water Holding Capacity (WHC) of soil and hences support crop plants during adverse environmental conditions.
• PROM also improves soil structure, aeration and maintains the C:N ratio < 20:1.

GOVERNMENT APPROVAL

Ministry of Agriculture & Cooperation, GOI has now approved Phosphate Rich Organic Manure (PROM) and included the same under Fertilizer Control Order (FCO), 1985.

TIME & DOSES

PROM can be used before sowing at the time of basal application while completing the land preparation at a consistent dose of 50 kg/ acre. If no organic manure has added in soil for more than 2-3 years, its double dose is recommended per acre.
